ABA Intervention
Direct, one-to-one support for learning, development, and independence
Momenta provides one-to-one Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) intervention delivered directly by a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA). Services support children and youth in developing a broad range of skills, including communication, cognitive, motor, social-emotional, daily living, and independence skills, as well as addressing behaviours that interfere with learning and everyday participation.
Intervention may focus on a specific skill or area of concern through short-term, targeted services, or address a broader range of developmental and learning goals through ongoing intervention. The scope, frequency, and duration of services are determined based on the learner's needs, family priorities, and clinical recommendations.
Services begin with an assessment appropriate to the goals being addressed. For targeted intervention, this may involve caregiver consultation, observation, and an assessment of the specific skill. More comprehensive intervention may involve a broader assessment of the learner's strengths and areas of need. Based on the findings, an intervention plan is developed in collaboration with caregivers, outlining the goals.
During direct intervention sessions, skills are systematically taught and practised using evidence-based teaching strategies. Data is collected to monitor progress, evaluate the effectiveness of intervention, and guide adjustments to programming. Caregiver collaboration also supports the application of newly acquired skills across people, activities, and everyday environments.
Services are provided in natural learning environments, including the home and community, allowing skills to be taught and practised in settings relevant to the learner's everyday life.
